Math 7

In Math 7, students will explore the concepts, skills and reasoning strategies for Grade 7 Mathematics using the problem-centered Connected Mathematics Program (CMP3).  Mathematical topics in 7th grade include 2D and 3D geometry and measurement, rational numbers, similar figures and scale drawings, ratios, rates, percents, and proportions, linear relationships, probability and statistics, and samples and populations.  Students will study these concepts using hands-on learning tools, participating in mathematics practice and application activities, and learning new vocabulary specific to concepts.  It is important for students to understand the concepts and vocabulary so that they know how to solve a variety of problems in math books, on tests, in future math courses, and in real-life situations.

Math 7/8

In Math 7/8, students will explore the concepts, skills and reasoning strategies for Grade 7 and Grade 8 Mathematics using the problem-centered Connected Mathematics Program (CMP3).  Mathematical topics in 7th grade include 2D and 3D geometry and measurement, rational numbers, similar figures and scale drawings, ratios, rates, percents, and proportions, linear relationships, probability, and samples and populations. Mathematical topics in 8th grade include Pythagorean Theorem, irrational numbers, exponents and scientific notation, transformations and congruence, and slope and systems of equations.
